Many
times
your clients will ask if you know any other types of entertainers who
may be
available for their event. On rare occasion I have even been contacted
by past
clients that have used me for many years in a row and like working with
me, but
are looking for a different form of entertainment.
Over the
years I have assembled a “team” of people that I
feel can
consistently entertain
crowds and make clients happy. I gladly offer to help clients such as
this with
booking those I am confident about. I occasionally collect only a very
small
percentage (commission) of the booking from the entertainers I help
book. Often
I set up a fellow entertainer just to keep my clients happy. I am not a
real
agent. I am a performer, and make a nice living at doing just that. But
by
booking other entertainers for my clients, I continue my relationship
with the
client, keeping them happy. I know eventually I will work directly with
them
again.
I use the
exact same process in booking a fellow entertainer a when I book
myself. I keep
all of the correspondence in my show bible too. If I am to be involved
in the
transaction, and my name is associated with it, I want to make sure I
have
accurate records about it and can follow up with the client easily. I
make out
my standard performance agreement contract with the client. It is
filled out
with the entertainer I am helping hire’s name information,
and
signature. I
then have a separate contract, which I have between myself and the
other
entertainer. Let's look at these contracts.
